The Phek District Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (PDNCSU) held a coordination meeting on Wednesday at Hotel Ura, Officers Hill Colony, Kohima, bringing together members to discuss key issues and strategies for the district.

Dr. Povotso Lohe, Legal Advisor of the Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU), urged the Chakhesang community to respect the diversity of dialects and avoid disputes over linguistic differences. He stressed the importance of delivering works on time, ensuring quality workmanship, and adhering to contractual terms. Lohe emphasized engaging the local workforce, maintaining transparency and accountability, and promoting honesty as a guiding principle. He also highlighted skill and knowledge development among members and advised that disputes be resolved amicably whenever possible.
N. Neilo Koza, Vice President of NCSU, noted that the union has nearly 6,000 members, including around 2,200 Class-1 contractors. He encouraged PDNCSU members to match the standards of other districts and urged them to set aside political affiliations for the community’s greater good.
Advisor Raruveyi Swuro called for better participation from members and stronger coordination with community leaders, legislators, and officials, reiterating that PDNCSU is a non-partisan body.
Kuzhosheyi Alex Soho, delivering the presidential address, highlighted that NCSU is the only body with representation from all 17 districts of Nagaland. He expressed concern that many contract works in Phek district were executed by contractors from other districts, even when qualified local members were available. Soho also criticized the poor quality of construction and incomplete maintenance of a two-lane road in Phek and warned that further action would be considered if issues persisted. He noted the absence of PDNCSU representation in the CPO and two-lane committees and called for stakeholder cooperation and solidarity among members.
Tseibou Khusoh, Secretary of NCSU, praised PDNCSU for organizing the meeting and urged members to address malpractices in contract awarding. Kedoutsolhi Wetsah, Convenor of the RTI Cell, NCSU, delivered a speech, while the General Secretary’s report was presented by Medovelo Sono.
The programme, chaired by Esther Rhakho, Women Coordinator, PDNCSU, began with an invocation prayer by Pastor Müdohü Kezo of Chakhesang Christian Revival Church and concluded with a benediction by Vevolhü Swuro, Treasurer, PDNCSU.
