Students of Phek Government College (PGC) undertook a field visit to the Lozaphuhu Community Conserved Area (CCA) as part of an initiative to connect classroom learning with practical experience in environmental conservation.

Organised by the Department of Environmental Sciences (EVS) in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Department of Botany, the field study involved first-semester B.A. and B.Sc. students.

Led by EVS Head of Department Vilhoutuonuo Theüno, the visit focused on biodiversity, sustainable ecosystems and community-based conservation practices.

NSS Convenor Zhokusheyi Rhakho briefed the students on the history, governance and management of the Lozaphuhu CCA. He highlighted the importance of indigenous practices and community participation in protecting ecosystems and ensuring sustainable use of natural resources.
