The Deputy Commissioner of Phek, John Tsulise Sangtam, has directed the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), and Executive Assistant Commissioner (EAC) to investigate allegations of an Rs 18,000 deduction from beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) in the district.
A letter, dated 27th February 2025, was received from the Phek District VCC’s Association, reporting that some Village Development Board (VDB) secretaries in the district had been involved in unauthorized deductions from the beneficiaries’ allocated amounts.
In his communication, the Deputy Commissioner requested that all relevant authorities ensure no such deductions have taken place within their jurisdictions and asked them to report any identified cases to his office.
The authorities have been instructed to take necessary action in this regard to ensure transparency and fairness in the PMAY-G scheme.
