Phek: ‘The Village Fair’ held at Phusachodu Village

Under the visionary initiative of Kudecho Khamo, MLA and Advisor, CAWD, Government of Nagaland, with the aim of promoting and providing market linkages to the local and global markets, “The Village Fair” was held today at the Local Ground, Phusachodu Village, Phek district.

Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, Kudecho Khamo, and others at Phusachodu Village on Thursday.

Nagaland’s Minister for Women Resources Development (WRD) and Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, as the Special Guest, expressed delight over the launch of the initiative “One Family, One Project, One Entrepreneur, One Prayer Time.” She stated that the fair is not just a gathering but a celebration of traditions and culture, showcasing the hard work of farmers, the creativity of artisans, and the hospitality of the people.

Kruse said the event strengthens the local economy, encourages local crafts, and inspires the younger generation to take pride in their heritage. She assured the people that the government, under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, is committed to supporting rural development through programs focusing on food security, poverty alleviation, rural infrastructure, technology dissemination in agriculture, natural resource management, and inclusive development with attention to women, youth, and tribal communities.

Highlighting the achievements of the Naga people, particularly the Chakhesang community, she congratulated their farming efforts and urged them to continue excelling and be role models for others. She encouraged people to avail themselves of government schemes and emphasized that depending solely on government jobs is not feasible. Kruse described the initiative “One Family, One Project” as an optimistic approach that she hopes will yield benefits for the community, appealing to everyone to support the government, collaborate, and work together to develop the constituency.

Guest of Honour, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, Advisor for NRE and NSDMA, highlighted the changing dynamics of the service and economic sectors, noting that no government can provide jobs for all citizens. He praised the younger generation for competing globally and stressed the importance of cultivating a hardworking culture among the Nagas.

Host of the event and Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, delivered the keynote address, speaking about the launch of The Green Village Link and the movements One Family, One Project; One Family, One Entrepreneur; and One Family, One Prayer. He stated that government jobs are limited and entrepreneurship provides dignity and alternative opportunities. He also announced a revolving fund of Rs 10 billion to support the initiative and emphasized that prayer is the foundation for success and development.

On the occasion, The Green Village Link was dedicated by Rev Dr Chekrovei Cho-o, Executive Secretary, CBCC. One Family, One Project was launched by Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse, One Family, One Entrepreneur by Advisor Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, and One Family, One Prayer Time by Rev Dr Vevo Phesao, President CBCC and Senior Pastor, CBCMHK.
