The Zuketsa Area Youth Organisation (ZAYO) celebrated its Golden Jubilee from December 18 to 20 at Zuketsa Local Ground under the theme “Glorious Past, Resilient Future.”
Er. Visakho Therie, Additional Chief Engineer, Department of Power, Government of Nagaland, graced the occasion as the special guest, while Kewengulo Lasushe, Class I contractor and social activist, attended as the guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Er. Therie urged the youth to embrace entrepreneurship with sincerity and dedication, stating that it could help boost the local economy and contribute towards building a self-reliant society. He also appealed to the people of the area to uphold the age-old tradition of unity and a strong spirit of oneness.
Speaking on the occasion, Lasushe encouraged the youth to consider sports as a career option and pursue it with commitment. Citing examples of prominent sports personalities, he said sports is a respectable profession and advised young people to identify their talents carefully and work hard to excel.
The Golden Jubilee celebration was a three-day event that highlighted sports and community participation. Six teams took part in the 50th anniversary edition, representing Leshemi Village, Lasumi Village, Zapami Village, Lewoza Village, Zuketsa Town, and ZAYO Pfutsero Town.
