The Phom Region of NSCN-R (Wangtin), led by chairman Ponglang and secretary Baong, has resolved to swear fealty to the NSCN-R (Akato), along with the Region guard commander Capt. Kaiba and 13 other Naga Army cadres. This was confirmed through an update received here.
According to the statement, the decision was made “while keeping in mind the protracted Indo-Naga imbroglio which is yet to reach its logical conclusion.”
The statement further clarified, “This decisive decision to join the NSCN mainstream was purely from intrinsic and coherent aptitude to seek new political directions which is being led by sagacious, astute and insightful leaderships and neither influenced nor impinged by any elements whatsoever.”
