Kohima, February 23 (MTNews): Nagaland Police on Thursday has ordered 20 police personnel alleged to be actively participating in election related campaigning to report at their respective Units by February 24 or face suspension. Additional Director General of Police (L&O), Nagaland has in an order instructed the CP Dimapur and respective Unit Commanders not to utilize the 20 named police personnel for any election related duties.
In an order, the ADGP stated that Police Headquarters is in receipt of a complaint where police personnel were alleged to have been actively campaigning defying PHQ. “Not only are these actions a violation of the Model Code of Conduct but also misconduct under the Service Rules as was intimated time and again,” the ADGP stated in the order.
