The Zeliangrong Youth Organisation Nagaland (ZYON), Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN), and Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation (ZMO) will begin the second phase of their indefinite “aggressive agitation” from 10 am on August 19 across Peren district over the April 7 Pimla murder case.

The agitation includes closure of all government offices, ban on movement of government vehicles, and shutdown of NH-129A and interstate routes. Administrative vehicles, health services, schools, colleges, paramilitary forces, fire and emergency services, and power field staff are exempted.

“We’ll maintain peace during this agitation, but if met with aggression, we’ll respond with double the force,” ZYON president R John Zeliang said. He further warned that the ZYON, ZSUN, ZMO, and citizens of Peren district “will not be held accountable if anything happens to the prime accused, who is currently out on bail.”

Zeliang said the protest will continue until the government provides progress on the forensic report and ensures justice. He warned that unlike the first phase, confiscated vehicles will not be released and violators will face action. Citizens, especially women, have been urged to join in traditional attire.
