Mokokchung, 5 August (MTNews): Advisor for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio inaugurated a plastic recycling plant in the presence of Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan at Bamunpukhuri -B village in Dimapur today. Speaking on the occasion, Zhaleo lauded the young entrepreneur Yanrenthung Ovung who had shouldered the responsibility to “do something productive for the people while helping to balance the ecosystem.”
Rio said that, in today’s world, everybody aims to reduce, reuse and recycle, and this new venture is one perfect example to help mother earth. Zhaleo appealed to collectively support and encourage the entrepreneur by supplying waste plastics to the plant which in turn will recycle it and help eradicate the menace of plastic pollution.
The Advisor also urged people to come forward with innovative ideas and concepts which will sustain the local economy.
Proprietor, CY Enterprise, Yanrenthung Ovung, revealed that durable plastic floor tiles will be produced from recycled plastics. He added that the firm is in consultation with Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) whereby they are in the process to set up a waste segregation system at DMC dumping site in the near future. “His efforts will not only generate wealth and employment but also contribute to sustainable and eco-friendly plastic waste management, effectively preventing pollution,” Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan said.
