New Delhi, 15 April (MTNews): Satya Pal Malik, the former governor of J&K, shocked the nation in an exclusive interview with veteran journalist Karan Thapar of The Wire on Friday, revealing numerous explosive points, one of which was, “I can safely say the PM has no real problem with corruption.”

According to Malik, the prime minister is unconcerned about corruption. He said that he was removed as governor of Goa in August 2020 and transferred to Meghalaya because he drew to the prime minister’s attention multiple cases of corruption that the government decided to ignore rather than address. He claimed that those close to the prime minister are corrupt and frequently use the PMO’s name. Malik stated that he had brought all of this to Modi’s attention but that the Prime Minister did not appear to care.

Malik further disclosed that the attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama was the product of “incompetence” and “laparvahi” on the part of the Indian system, notably the CRPF and the home ministry. Rajnath Singh was the home minister at the time. Malik described how the CRPF requested aircraft to transport its jawans but was denied by the Union Home Ministry.

He stated that he mentioned all of these flaws explicitly when Modi contacted him from outside Corbett Park shortly after the Pulwama tragedy; however, he claimed the prime minister instructed him to be silent and not inform anyone.

Separately, Malik stated that NSA Ajit Doval instructed him to be silent and not speak about it. Malik stated that he quickly realized that the goal was to blame Pakistan in order to gain electoral advantage for the government and the BJP.

Malik also said that all the appointments granted by President Droupadi Murmu are, in fact, vetted by the PMO. He said an appointment he had been given by the president when he was still a governor was cancelled at the last moment when he was actually en route to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
