Mokokchung, October 20 (MTNews): Although the final tour itinerary has not been finalized, Nagaland has joined Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh on the list of states that Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit later this month.
According to a press release from the organizers of the NSF Martyrs Trophy, the Prime Minister will visit the state capital of Kohima and hold a public rally at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima. Accordingly, the organizers of the ongoing NSF Martyrs Trophy 2022 have rescheduled the fixture. The final match of the trophy was initially scheduled for October 29 but has now been rescheduled to October 24.
PM Modi is expected to visit Tripura to inaugurate dwelling units built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), and Arunachal Pradesh to inaugurate the Donyi Polo airport on October 27-28.
The Prime Minister’s visit also comes at a time when both Nagaland and Tripura are set to hold elections early next year, and speculations have been made that discussions on Naga political issues are likely to resume, even as the NSCN-IM and NNPGs have jointly agreed to form the Council of Naga Relationships and Cooperation at their Kolkata Meeting just this week.
Meanwhile, the NSF Martyrs Trophy organizers have announced that the remaining matches, beginning on October 20 and ending on October 24, will be played according to the revised schedule.
