111855103 MT of foodgrains allocated under PMGKAY to States/UTs
The Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today shared that the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) has been implemented in all 36 States/UTs.
It was informed that the total foodgrains allocated by States/UTs under PMGKAY was 111855103.88 MT. All States/UTs have been allocated foodgrains as per their entitlements under National Food Security Act (NFSA) / (PMGKAY), she informed. It was also mentioned that any request for additional allocation of foodgrains over and above NFSA/PMGKAY, is processed in accordance with extant instructions.
Further, it was informed that “lifting” of food grains under PMGKAY (Phase I-VII) by States/UTs up to November 2022 was 100516889.66 MT while the quantity of foodgrains distributed by States/UTs was 96917817.20 MT.
Meanwhile, the quantity of food grains lifted by Nagaland state under PMGKAY (up to November, 2022) was 189509.27 MT while the quantity of foodgrains distributed by the State was 172086.77 MT. The allocation of foodgrains under PMGKAY (Phase I-VII) for Nagaland was 196656.18 MT.
