The Pochury Youth Organisation (PYO) has advised its members and constituent units not to participate in the Naga Youth Movement’s (NYM) proposed public gathering at Lok Bhavan in Kohima on October 28 in the name or official capacity of the organisation.
In an advisory dated October 26, the PYO called on its members and constituent units to exercise discretion and uphold organisational discipline and collective responsibility, particularly in matters with wider implications for the organisation and the community it represents.
The organisation said the advisory was intended to preserve unity, maintain discipline and ensure that its position and actions remained consistent with the collective decisions and mandate of the Pochury community.
It reiterated that any participation or representation in matters of organisational significance must be guided by due consideration and the organisation’s established position.
The PYO urged all members and constituent units to cooperate in upholding the organisation’s integrity, unity and collective interests.
The advisory follows a similar move by the Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF), which has also advised its members and constituent units against participating in the proposed NYM gathering in an official capacity. In an advisory issued on October 25, the CYF stated that no member or unit should participate in or represent the organisation at the gathering in an official capacity.
