Addressing the gathering, Krome thanked the Porbami Youth Organisation and the cultural team of Porba village for the invitation. He said the honour reflected the long standing bond of brotherhood between his native village Zelome and Porba rather than his official position.

Speaking on the theme, he said the topic was relevant as youths were gradually losing touch with their culture and identity. He defined culture as the language people speak, the beliefs they uphold and the way of life they follow. He urged youths to preserve values of honesty, sincerity, hard work and dedication instead of adopting negative foreign influences.

Emphasising identity, Krome highlighted the importance of mother tongue and called for promoting local culture through folklore, dances and songs. Vecuru Dzudo spoke on preserving cultural values and recalled traditional inter village bonds, highlighting the historic brotherhood between Zelome and Porba.

Earlier, Krome hoisted the organisation flag. The programme was chaired by Kuthovo Vadeo, Finance Secretary, PYO, and featured obituary homage, cultural performances and inter khel competitions.
