Mokokchung, 29 April (MTNews): Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh IAS, has in a notification informed that a portion of the deck slab of the Dikhu Bridge at Mokokchung to Noksen (Tuensang) road via Longmisa village has been damaged, posing a significant danger to the lives and properties of the general public.

 

Consequently, the Deputy Commissioner has informed all concerned that movement of all heavy vehicles on the bridge has been restricted from 29 April to 7 May in order to facilitate in carrying out the necessary repairing works. It was also informed that only light vehicles carrying personnel luggage shall be allowed during the stipulated time.

 

Further, it was informed that EAC Ongpangkong will coordinate to check and ensure that the restriction of movement of all heavy vehicles is adhered to. The DC also stated that noncompliance to the information shall invite penal action as per the relevant section of the law.
