The Transmission Division, Mokokchung has announced a scheduled vegetation clearance drive along 132kV and 66kV transmission lines, which will involve day-time power shutdowns across multiple districts from April 20 to May 16.
According to Executive Engineer Hekaito Assumi, power supply will remain suspended from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on specified dates to facilitate smooth execution of the works.
The department stated that the exercise is aimed at ensuring a more stable and reliable power supply.
As per the schedule, areas under Tuensang will be affected from April 20 to 25 during maintenance of the 132kV Tuensang transmission line, with supply to be routed through the Kiphire–Tuensang line.
Shutdowns in Zunheboto district are scheduled from April 27 to May 2 under the 66kV Zunheboto transmission line.
From May 4 to 9, power supply will be affected in areas under Changtongya and Tuli sub-divisions, along with Longleng and Mon districts, covering multiple 66kV lines including Tuli, Naginimora, Tizit, and Mon.
Further, shutdowns are scheduled from May 11 to 16 in Longnak and Mangkolemba sub-divisions under the 132kV Longnak transmission line.
The department has appealed to the public in the affected areas to extend cooperation and bear the inconvenience during the shutdown period.
