A sensitisation and awareness program on the implementation of loss reduction works under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) was held at Kubolong on September 4, 2025. The program was organised by the Department of Power, Government of Nagaland.
RDSS is an initiative of the Government of India aimed at improving the power sector infrastructure in the state by installing new distribution transformers and strengthening power lines to ensure reliable and stable electricity supply. The scheme also seeks to reduce power losses caused by transmission inefficiencies, electricity theft, and minimal billing. In addition, it aims to eliminate manual meter reading and provide consumers with easier access to bill payments through an IT-based billing system.
The resource person for the program was Er. Lobosang Jamir, Additional Chief Engineer (Power), D&R, Government of Nagaland, who also serves as the State Nodal Officer for RDSS. He was accompanied by Executive Engineers, SDOs, and officials from both the Mokokchung and Changtongya Electrical Divisions.
Village council members from all the villages under Kubolong block and Asetkong Senden officials attended the program, which also featured an interactive session.
