The Department of Power has informed that the 132kV Zunheboto–Mokokchung Transmission Line under the North Eastern Region Power System Improvement Project (NERPSIP) will be test charged at rated voltage from July 22, 2025.
The transmission line passes through various villages and towns in Mokokchung and Zunheboto districts. In Mokokchung district, the line runs through Ungma village. In Zunheboto district, it covers the areas of Sumi Settsu, Zaphumi, Lumami, Alaphumi, Lumithsami, Akuluto, Lokobomi, Awotsakilimi, Vikhomi, Askhuto Town, Yeshlotomi, Imlomi, Litsami, and Lizu New.
The Executive Engineer of the Mokokchung Transmission Division, Er. Hekaito Assumi, informed in a press release that the transmission line will be kept idle charged after the test. “In this regard, all the public are informed not to touch the said Transmission line nor go near the same for safety purposes,” he informed.
“Anybody doing so shall be doing at their own risk and the department shall not be held responsible for any untoward incident whatsoever,” he added.
He also requested public cooperation to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the test charging process.
