Mokokchung, 22 July (MTNews): Watsü Mungdang, the apex women organization of the Ao Naga community has called the 4 May incident in Manipur ‘barbaric’ and wondered why it took so long for authorities to take action when the ethnic violence in Manipur has been ongoing for 2 months.
“The power holders, star anchors, TV media had all miserably failed the public,” the Watsü Mungdang stated in a press release on Saturday. “It took ghastly visuals of the two women for the nation to wake up and break the silence,” it said.
The apex women organization further urged the Central Government, State Government and National Commission for Women to take cognizance of the offence and take all necessary measures to deliver justice for the horrifying ordeal suffered by those innocent women.
