Mokokchung, September 12 (MTNews): On the late evening of September 11, during the torrential downpours, a large tree near Aolijen was uprooted, disrupting the flow of power.

 

The aforementioned tree had tensioned the wires when it fell over the 33kV Alichen feeder (conductor snapped) and132kV Mokokchung-Doyang line cutting off electricity to Alichen and surrounding area.

 

Sources in the Power Department stated that while the tree has been cleared and power restored in the Alichen and surrounding area, the 33kV Akuluto line, which was also hampered by the uprooted tree, would be restored by September 13th.
