The Department of Power, Government of Nagaland, has announced a scheduled power shutdown in parts of Zunheboto district to facilitate transmission works linked to the commissioning of a new sub-station.

According to a press release issued by the Office of the Executive Engineer, Transmission Division, Mokokchung, the stringing of the 132kV Tuensang Dead End Tower at the 132/66/33kV Aolijen Sub-Station, Mokokchung will be carried out on January 22 and 23, 2026.

To ensure smooth execution of the work, a total shutdown of power supply has been scheduled from 8 am to 4 pm on January 22 and from 7 am to 4 pm on January 23. The shutdown is necessary for works related to the commissioning of the new 132/33kV GIS Tuensang Sub-Station under the North Eastern Region Power System Improvement Project.

During the shutdown period on January 22, feeders under shutdown will include 66kV Zunheboto, 33kV Akuloto and 33kV NU Lumami, affecting Zunheboto district. The shutdown on January 23 will continue as part of the same work schedule.

Appealing for public cooperation, the department stated that the shutdown is essential for the successful completion of the project and requested consumers in the affected areas to bear the inconvenience during the scheduled hours.
