To mark the upcoming 78th Independence Day in Mokokchung with grandeur, a consultative and work distribution meeting was held at the DC’s Conference Hall on August 5, 2024. The meeting focused on coordinating tasks across various departments to ensure a successful celebration.

The festivities will include visits by institutional groups to the District Hospital, District Jail, and Orphanage. The day will feature a speech by the Chief Guest, a march-past by parade contingents, cultural performances, and exhibition stalls from various departments. Highlights also include a tug-of-war match between the Mokokchung Municipal Council Councilors and government officers, as well as a football match between Mokokchung Football League 35+ and DPDB XI.

Deputy Commissioner Thsuvisie Phoji has directed all heads of offices to attend the official banquet. The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police Vesupra Kezo, district heads of offices, and was chaired by SDO (C) Shelly Kaitry.

In another development, the Mokokchung District Task Force on Immunization (DTFI) and Urban Task Force Immunization (UTFI) held a coordination meeting at DC Conference room on 5 August. 2024. The programme was presided over by chairman DTFI & UTFI Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, DC Mokokchung.
