Mokokchung, October 27 (MTNews): In a major political blow to Dy. Chief Minister of Nagaland, Yanthungo Patton, the president of the BJP Wokha district unit, Yanthungo Kikon, tendered his resignation on Thursday alleging that the Dy. CM has become “arrogant and inaccessible.”
Kikon, who shares the same constituency as Y. Patton, 37 Tyui A/C had served as the president of the BJP Wokha Unit for two terms.
Kikon’s resignation letter which surfaced in public domain on Thursday evening alleged that Patton, after being the Home Minister for 2 terms and saddled with the post of Deputy Chief Minister in this present term, has become “arrogant and inaccessible” to all, particularly the party karyakartas.
“An immature person by temperament, he does not entertain any supporters in his residence or office and is known for constantly lying to hide his failures,” the letter stated.
Kikon further accused Patton of practicing nepotism stating that, “Yanthungo Patton, saddled with immense power, has ensured that he only enables his own coterie to benefit thereby throwing away the greater and wider opportunity for the Party to grow in Nagaland – citizens of this state is silent witnesses to this glaring and brazen nepotism being practiced by him.”
Kikon further claimed that the responsibility hoisted upon Patton by the Party High Command to be the BJP’s candidate for Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland has been a “waste for the long run” and said that “the Party will be better off without deadwoods such as him.”
He further added that Patton was a person who cannot keep his commitments to his voters, citizens and Party karyakartas.
