Prof. Ambrish Singh, from the Department of Chemistry at Nagaland University, served as a Visiting Professor at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, during June 1 to 30, 2024. Following his seminar, Prof. Singh visited the National University of Uzbekistan where he explored opportunities for collaborations and joint projects. He engaged with scientists and staff, further promoting academic exchanges between institutions.
Back at Al-Farabi University, Prof. Singh played a pivotal role in establishing an electrochemical lab for applied and analytical Chemistry students, enriching their practical learning experience.
Prof. Singh’s impact extended beyond lectures and seminars, in that he provided valuable guidance to PhD students on their ongoing research, advised on research paper modifications, patent applications, and project developments. His collaborative spirit was evident in brainstorming sessions with faculty members aimed at initiating joint projects. His efforts were highly appreciated by his peers and students.
Beyond academic pursuits, Prof. Singh explored cultural landmarks in Almaty, including Kok Tobe, Shymbulak Mountains, and the Green Bazaar. The Dean, Prof. Alina, expressed gratitude for Prof. Singh’s enthusiastic contributions and proposed continued collaboration, including online classes to sustain academic exchange. Prof. Singh’s interactive teaching style received positive feedback from both PhD and master’s students, fostering an environment conducive to learning and growth. In recognition of his impactful visit, Al-Farabi University presented him with souvenirs as a token of appreciation.

Prof. J.K. Patnaik, the Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, while commending Prof. Ambrish, for the achievement, pointed out that one of the key areas which NEP-2020 emphasizes is the internationalization of India’s higher education system.
