As part of the nationwide Shiksha Sapta (Education Week) from June 22 to 27, schools across Nagaland observed Sports Day on Day 3. The event, held at GMS D Khel in Kohima, featured a range of activities including traditional games like wrestling, wood karting and stilt walking, as well as basketball and volleyball.

Temsunaro Aier, State Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, highlighted the importance of sports for students’ holistic development, emphasizing mental growth, teamwork, and character building. Dr Kevi Rio, Joint Mission Director, and Kelhikha Kenye, Deputy Mission Director, also participated, leading and congratulating students for their engagement.

The event aimed to promote physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle among students. The Department of School Education appreciates the success of the event and looks forward to upcoming activities including Cultural Day, Skilling Day, Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE, and Community Involvement Day.
