Hutoka Assumi, President of Sumi Aphuyemi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SAKK), presented a detailed report on the recent school visitation conducted by SAKK in the Pughoboto Subdivision during the SDPDB meeting held at the DB Hall, ADC Office, on September 6, 2024. The initiative aimed to assess the current conditions of educational institutions, identify critical staff and resource shortages, and document the grievances of school administrators and faculty. The primary goal is to improve the quality of education in the region by addressing these identified issues.
The report highlighted several significant challenges faced by schools in the Pughoboto subdivision, including teacher shortages and inadequate infrastructure. The board discussed the urgent need for immediate action, strategic planning, and sustained efforts to tackle these challenges. Among the recommendations was the rationalization of teachers within the subdivision to better address staffing concerns.
In addition to addressing educational issues, the board also recommended the construction of a tourist facility in Pughoboto to promote tourism in the area.
The SDPDB meeting was chaired by Dr Sukhato A. Sema, MLA and Chairman of SDPDB Pughoboto, with ADC and Vice Chairman Tiameren Chang also present. The discussions emphasized the need for concerted efforts to enhance both educational quality and regional development.
