The 16th Saramati Soccer Championship 2025, organized under the theme “Victory through Teamwork,” concluded on January 17, 2025, at Public Ground Pungro, Kiphire. Pujenvong FC lifted the trophy, and Tsuwong FC emerged as the runners-up. The tournament was organized by the Saramati Nexus Club in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland.

Gracing the closing ceremony as the special guest, Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland, S Keoshu Yimkhiung, emphasized that sporting talent should not be viewed merely as a “time-pass” activity, but rather as something to be well-organized with dedication and the objective of promoting and providing a platform for young football players in the area. He encouraged the players to focus on developing their skills and talents.

He also stated that sports serve as a vision to promote fitness, health awareness, and the eradication of tobacco and substance use among youngsters, while providing players with opportunities to advance to higher levels of play. Additionally, he mentioned that such programs would encourage players to come forward and participate in sports.

The presidential address was delivered by Throngso K, with short speeches by Hosito Elias, Convener of the Mini Hornbill Festival 2025, and Additional Director of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland. A special number was presented by Lensola. The program was chaired by Adelin, General Secretary of the Saramati Nexus Club, and the invocation was given by Fr. Peter Pithungo, Parish Priest of St. Parish Pungro.
