Lockdown has been a blessing in disguise to many and the story of _foodstory_ is no different.
Run and managed by two cousins in Sungkomen Ward, Pursen and Merenkok of Mokokchung village began their home based business on 23rd September, 2020 during lockdown.
Having been passionate about food, according to them, the lockdown gave them ample amount of time to take their kitchen to practice, experiment and after numerous epic fails of recipes after recipes, they finally established ‘food story’.
“We are super grateful to our parents for being so supportive of our venture from the get-go. In fact, we would not have started out without their financial assistance to cover our immediate key expenses such as equipment, ingredients, packaging and potential distributions,” they said.
Food story menu currently consists of pizzas, burgers, kimbap, cheesecakes, donuts and so on.
Speaking to Mokokchung Times, they talked about how running a business no matter how small it is, isn’t a cakewalk. “But having a home-based business has its own perk, the obvious ones being the lack of overheads such as rent,” they said.
Recalling their first customers, they narrated how their first customers were their family members and within two to three months, the clientele grew in hundreds. “Before we knew it, we started getting a lot of positive feedback which has indeed been so rewarding and encouraging to continue doing what we love to do.”
Expressing their gratitude to their loyal customers for the love and support, the duo concluded by saying, “because of you, ‘foodstory’ came into being what it is today.”
