Dimapur, 15 May (MTNews): The joint stakeholders meeting of the Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) reiterated its appeal to the Government of Nagaland to put construction of the Foothills Road on Priority List in the current financial year for NEC Funding in accordance to the NLA resolutions adopted on 22 September 2022 which was further reaffirmed at the 1st Assembly Session of the 14th NLA in March 2023.

This was resolved during the Joint Stakeholders meetings on 13 May in Dimapur which consisted of the Departmental Officials of PWD(R&B), the Foothills Contractor Firms, the Dimapur based Tribal Hohos and the Committee.

In the meeting, they also resolved to undertake a joint inspection tour at the earliest from Niuland to Tizit consisting of the Divisional EE, PWD(R&B), Divisional Contractors, the tribal bodies and the committee members “to ascertain the technical completion of the work and to recommend performance based release of the remaining Bills, before the onset of the rainy season.”

Maintaining the cohesiveness of the NFHRCC and protecting its sanctity as the committee was unanimously approved by the respective Apex Tribal Hohos as a pressure group in 2013 was also resolved at the meeting.

Accordingly, it was resolved that any individual or groups undermining the authenticity of the committee in “any unrealistic manner” shall not be tolerated and “appropriate correctional measures shall be initiated against the culprits.”
