Celebrating the exceptional achievements of its successful students in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examinations 2023, Queen Mary Higher Secondary School, a renowned educational institution in the town, organized a felicitation program today. The event took place in the school’s auditorium and saw the presence of distinguished guests, proud parents, students, and school alumni.

The felicitation program served as a platform to honor the dedication, hard work, and extraordinary accomplishments of the meritorious students who had excelled in their HSLC and HSSLC examinations, contributing significantly to the academic excellence of the school.

 

The ceremony commenced with an opening address by Rev Fr Sajimon, the school principal, who expressed his delight and pride in the remarkable achievements of the students. He emphasized the importance of their accomplishments as a testament to their perseverance, determination, and the invaluable support they received from their teachers and families. The principal also presented cash prizes to the toppers and teachers.

 

The event’s special guest, Chumlamo Humtsoe, ADC Mokokchung, delivered a congratulatory message wherein he highlighted the significance of holistic education and the pivotal role played by academic institutions in nurturing and shaping young minds. He encouraged the students to become assets to society and their community. Notably, Humtsoe acknowledged that out of the nine top performers, seven were girls. While acknowledging the consistent outstanding performance of girls, he urged the boys to strive harder to match the achievements of their female counterparts.

 

The felicitation program continued with a message from Dr Sentirenla, Dental Surgeon at IMDH and an alumnus of the school. Dr Sentirenla congratulated the students and, on behalf of the alumni association, distributed certificates and cash prizes to recognize their exceptional accomplishments.

 

In addition to honoring the top rank holders, the program also acknowledged students who had excelled in specific subjects. Awards were presented to commend their outstanding performances.

 

The felicitation program also featured brief speeches from the toppers themselves and Dr Mar Walling, a member of the school board. Furthermore, a special song was performed by Imlienla from class 12, adding to the overall ambiance of the event.

 

According to the school’s result statistics, among the 195 students who appeared for the HSLC exams, 191 students successfully cleared the boards. Additionally, five students achieved state toppers honor in various subjects.
In the HSSLC exams, 159 students appeared for the exam in the arts stream with 153 students successfully clearing the boards. While in the science stream, out of the 64 students who appeared for the exams, 59 students emerged triumphant.

 

Within the arts stream, Imlimerenla Pongen secured a remarkable position by attaining the 8th rank and in the science stream, Tiatetla Jamir achieved the top 10th rank.
