Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from Nagaland, S Phangnon Konyak, attended the inaugural program of the International Conference on Delimitation in India: Balancing Representation and Federal Equity, organised by the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, at Sir Shankar Lal Concert Hall, New Delhi. The program was graced by Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi, along with eminent dignitaries and participants.
As Guest of Honour, Konyak commended the Faculty of Law for organising this timely initiative on delimitation and noted its importance in ensuring fair representation and strengthening India’s federal structure.
In her remarks, she underlined the vibrancy of India’s democracy and highlighted the Next Gen GST Reforms as a shining example of cooperative federalism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. She emphasised that these reforms were made possible through the unanimous consensus of all states in the GST Council.
