Top Riders National Medalists and Champions to Compete in 50th Anniversary Event
Kohima, 29 October (MTNews): A one day open road bicycle rally billed as ‘Rally of Phek’ will take place on November 4 in commemoration of 50 years of Phek district.
Prominent riders like Ronel Khundrakpam (National medalist), Shiven (2-time national champion), Ashish Sharpa (current U-23 national champion) and Thotmachan Awangshi (National medalist) have confirmed their participation.
The rally will start from Glory Peak, Pfutsero and culminate at Phek town. The rally is organized by Phek District Golden Jubilee Event Committee and sponsored by Department of Tourism, Nagaland.

The open category rally is for participants aged 15 years and above.
The winner will receive Rs 70,000 while 2nd and 3rd place will get Rs 40,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. There will be 10 consolation prizes at Rs 5000 each.
The Rally will be flagged off by MLA Dr. Neisatuo Mero at 10:00 AM from Pfutsero
The prize distribution ceremony will take place at Phek town on November 4 at 1:00 PM.
The program will be chaired by Ruopfukuotuo Noudi, ADC and PTC administrator. Race report will be given by Neitho Khamo.
S Peter Trakha, District Tourism Officer will also deliver a short speech.
Kuko Mero, Deputy Commissioner, Phek will give away the prizes to the winners.
Vote of thanks will be proposed by Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) president Vezuhii Keyho.
