Sovima, 19 October: At the close of Day 2 in the Ranji Trophy 2024-2025 match at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, Nagaland held a 186-run lead over Manipur. After securing a first-innings lead of 98 runs, Nagaland finished their second innings at 88/2 in 31 overs, according to an update from the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA).


In their first innings, Nagaland posted 237 runs from 89.4 overs, with Sedezhalie Rupreo top-scoring at 57 off 124 balls. Nischal Dega added 49 runs from 75 balls, while Hokaito Zhimomi played a steady knock of 55 off 176 balls to help stabilize Nagaland after early setbacks. Chetan Bisht also contributed 36 runs to the total.

Manipur’s Jotin Pheiroijam impressed with four wickets, while Kabir and Ajay Singh took three and two wickets, respectively.

Manipur, in their first innings, struggled to 139 all out in 51.1 overs. Jotin Pheiroijam top-scored with 58, while Rex chipped in with 27 and P. Prafullomani added 20. Nagaland’s bowlers dominated, with Suchith taking five wickets, captain Jonathan Rongsen claiming three, and Imliwati adding two wickets to the tally.

In Nagaland’s second innings, Nischal Dega remained unbeaten on 62*, with Hem on 11*. For Manipur, Kabir and Ajay Singh each took a wicket.
