The Office of the Returning Officer of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has announced that a fresh poll will be conducted at Polling Station-4 under Ward-20 in Dimapur (Circuit House Area). This decision follows the SEC order issued on June 26.
The Returning Officer of DMC, W Manpai Phom, issued a notice on Thursday stating, “In pursuance to the SEC order vide No. SEC/MTC ELE-33/2024/268 dated June 26, it is hereby notified that a fresh poll will be taken at Polling Station-4 (Circuit House Area W/W-Um Villa, Circuit House & Imkonglenden Colony) under Ward-20 Dimapur Municipal Council on June 28 (Friday) from 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.”
The State Election Commission (SEC) also stated that, on the basis of the report submitted by the Returning Officer, Dimapur Municipal Council and after taking all material circumstances into account, it has declared that the poll taken on June 26 at Polling Station No. 4 under Ward No. 20 of Dimapur Municipal Council to be void and appointed June 28 as the date for taking fresh poll at the said polling station from 7.30 am to 4 pm.
The State Election Commission Nagaland ordered the repoll under the provisions of Section 31 (1) of the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023 and Rule 66 (a) of the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2023.
