Sharingain Longkumer holds thanksgiving program
Ungma, 31 March (MTNews): Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Sharingain Longkumer who won the NLA seat from the 26 Aonglenden Assembly Constituency held a thanksgiving program at the Yimtsungta Arok Sapang, Ungma on Friday.
Sharingain Longkumer during his address expressed appreciation towards the electorates of the constituency for their continued support and trust bestowed upon him.
The NLA Speaker shared his vision for the next 5 years and stated his commitment of uniting all and working for the prosperity and welfare of the people, highlighting and stressing on improving employment opportunities for the educated unemployed youths, infrastructure development, creation of platforms, income generation activities, sustainable and progressive development policies.
Longkumer further assured that he will work hand in hand with all stakeholders including party workers and yimdens in relation to matters of sustainable progressive development issues and would ensure equitable distribution.
Talking about the ULB elections, Longkumer stated that the Nagaland Municipal Act 2001 was enacted in 2001 by the Government through the 73rd and 74th amendments; however through interpretation issues it has been widely opposed for years. Thus, he said, the Government of Nagaland in good faith and understanding the voices of the people and leaders of civil society organizations has repealed the Municipal Act which he said is a victory for all.
Hinting on the Parliamentary elections, he said one must choose and support the most capable candidate to be able to voice out and be the face of all Nagas.
Earlier, short speeches were delivered by NDPP Mokokchung Region, President 26 A/C BJP Mandal, Ungma Yimden, Dilong Yimden, Sangtemla Yimden, Arkong Yimden, Marepkong Yimden, Kubza Yimden and Settsü Yimden while the welcome address was presented by Nungsangmeren Lkr, President 26 A/C and vote of thanks was presented by Lipoktemsu Imsong, Vice-president 26 A/C.
Thanksgiving program for Pangjung Jamir in Tuli
Tuli, 31 March (MTNews): Thanksgiving service program for A Pangjung Jamir, MLA 21 Tuli AC and Advisor for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources was held at public ground, Shütikolak ward, Tuli today.
The program was organized by 21 Tuli A/C BJP Mandal. In the program, president Nuklutemjen delivered a welcome address.
Pangjung Jamir thanked all the village councils, 21 Tuli A/C BJP Mandal and general public for electing him in the recently held general election from Tuli AC.
He appealed to all the area people to work hand in hand for the development of Tuli area. He also urged all the general public that he may not help each and everyone by giving service or benefits individually but said that he will focus on developing the Tuli area for the general public.
Short speeches were delivered from Asangma VC, Kangtsung VC, Wameken VC, Anaki VC, Tzudikong Town, Tulikong ward chairman, BJP Molungyimsen unit and S Imti Jamir. A special song was presented by Mahila wing Tzudikong unit while a vote of thanks was delivered by S Sendong Ao, SCM.
