‘Stigma is an enemy of HIV/AIDS’
Mokokchung, July 29 (MTNews): The Red Ribbon Club of Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE), Yimyu, organised an awareness program on Friday, the 29th of July, 2022 at the Straightway Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung.
The event was conducted on the theme, “Stigma is an enemy of HIV/AIDS” based on which a program was hosted by the RRC members of the MCTE. Miss Imtimenla, Asst. professor, MCTE and nodal officer of RRC, MCTE enlightened on the significance of the day.
Prepared speech competition on the theme “I am” was held for classes 9 and 10 students, while an essay writing competition was held for classes 11 and 12 students on the theme, “Standing up to stigma.”
The program was conducted with the aim to sensitize the students on the stigma that is prevalent towards victims of HIV/AIDS and to promote a positive attitude towards the same.
Miss Sentiyangla, Principal, Straightway Higher Secondary School expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the club for the thoughtful intervention.
