The Spices Board Office, Dimapur, in collaboration with Ahthibung Farmers Producer Company Limited, organised a regional seminar on ginger and Naga King Chili at KIN Conference Hall, Ahthibung Town, to promote scientific cultivation, value addition and market opportunities for spice growers.

The programme was moderated by Adelah Poumai of the Spices Board Office, Dimapur. Aakam Pame of Basix Krishi Samruddhi, a handholding and service provider, delivered the welcome address, while Ruzo Pame, Pastor of New Beisumpui Baptist Church, offered the invocation.
The first technical session was led by Benathung Lotha, District Field Consultant, District Horticulture Office, Peren. Speaking on “Entrepreneurship, market linkage, business development and value addition in Naga Mircha (Naga King Chili),” he highlighted opportunities in entrepreneurship, market linkages and value addition to enhance income potential. He encouraged farmers to adopt value-added practices for sustainable livelihoods.
The second session was conducted by Samsing Taro, Field Officer, Spices Board Office, Dimapur, who spoke on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), scientific ginger cultivation, disease management and organic farming practices. He also highlighted the importance of ginger in global markets.
In his concluding remarks, Pame encouraged farmers to apply the knowledge gained during the seminar and adopt improved farming practices.
A total of 103 farmers from eight villages under Ahthibung subdivision attended the seminar.
