NH 2: Potholes reappear on recently paved highway
According to a casual survey conducted by Mokokchung Times on Sunday, the stretch of the newly paved National Highway 2 that runs through the heart of Mokokchung town, from 147 kilometers (Sewak Gate) to 156 kilometers (DEF), is showing signs of major deterioration with potholes appearing in several locations after only a few months of completion.
Major evidence of deterioration can be visible around eight locations, including IM Road, Police Point, Alongmen Ward, Tongdentsuyong Ward, and Sungkomen Ward, while other portions of the road in the aforementioned areas are also steadily deteriorating. It remains to be seen how many more potholes will appear in the said stretch of the highway by the end of the current monsoon season.
