Mokokchung, July 22 (MTNews): The Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation (ENSF) has demanded that “all proposed/approved projects under existing departments of Nagaland be reviewed” and allocate them with equity in the larger interest of the Nagas.
ENSF in a press release on Friday, while highlighting a series of discrepancies, alleged “biased distribution of funds” and stated that “the trend of inclining towards a section of people/areas in the process of development will only jeopardize the very fabric of Naga integration in the near future.”
ENSF questioned the “clandestine and arbitrary selfish motives of the government machineries in orchestrating and allocating the schemes and funds for development of state” and stated that development projects allocated to Eastern Nagaland as a whole was “just a speck” and questioned who is responsible for “disproportional discrepancies in developmental activities.”
ENSF also highlighted the historical background of the formation of Nagaland state and the constitutional provisions for allocation of development funds to Eastern Nagaland, while alleging “step motherly treatment” since the inception of Nagaland state as well as disparity in implementing various projects, schemes, programs and development activities “under the present government.”
