It could be a coincidence, but there were three anniversaries on Friday, all major milestones in their own right. The Mokokchung District Bharat Scouts and Guides celebrated its 75th anniversary. Interestingly, Mokokchung was the first in Nagaland to introduce the Scouts and Guides. Additionally, the Christian Residential Higher Secondary School celebrated its 25th anniversary. A ‘divine vision’ gave birth to this school, and it is now a successfully running higher secondary institution. The third milestone was the New Kung Fu Martial Arts Academy celebrating its 25th anniversary by offering a free crash course on self-defense to students and young people. Congratulations to all three on reaching major milestones in their journey, and it is hoped that each will scale greater heights in the future.

Now, these are just three entities, but there have been a number of jubilees this year. With the year-end season approaching, there are likely more such jubilees coming up. Celebrations aside, if we look deeper, we will realize that the milestones we cross today are because of the journeys we began years ago. To be honest, Mokokchung was arguably more vibrant, lively, and adventurous 20 to 30 years ago. Everything has its time, of course, and there are exciting things happening today in Mokokchung that will reach their own milestones in time. However, the energy that once drove Mokokchung was remarkable. If we face constraints today, imagine the challenges people dealt with back then. Imagine doing things without the internet today—how difficult that would be. Back then, there were only a few telephones in Mokokchung, and the internet wasn’t even a concept. We’re talking about 30 years ago, not centuries ago.

So much has changed over the years. Mokokchung still faces many constraints today, but imagine the pioneering initiatives that were made years ago. Things weren’t easier back then. Ultimately, when boiled down, it all perhaps comes down to the spirit of the people. Rekindle the spirit, Mokokchung.

The challenges of today may seem daunting, but they also present new opportunities for innovation and growth. By embracing the spirit that once made Mokokchung a vibrant hub of progress, we can push through the obstacles of the present and build a future even more remarkable than the past. Each milestone is proof that perseverance leads to success, and by reigniting that energy, we can ensure that Mokokchung continues to thrive for centuries to come.

  1. Hey! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any solutions to prevent hackers?
