The Rotary Club (RC) Mokokchung conducted its 49th Installation Ceremony on Saturday, July 28, with I. Temsu Jamir, past president of the club, as the Installation Officer and Asola Ozukum, vice-president of Watsü Mungdang, as the special guest. The eve nt was held at ECO Camp, Longkong. Rongsentoshi Jamir and Imlitemsu Jamir were installed as the new president and secretary, respectively.

President-elect Rongsentoshi, while delivering his acceptance speech, said that he accepted the appointment with pride and assured that he would give his best as president. “With the grace of God and the cooperation of fellow members, I will devote my time and myself to the obligations and duties of this post,” he said. He also expressed his dream and prayer that the club will transform possibilities and opportunities into stories of success and triumph by the end of the year.

Special guest Asola Ozukum congratulated the newly inducted officials of the club and expressed hope that they would lead the Rotary Club of Mokokchung to greater heights during their tenure. She highlighted that Rotary Club brings together people across generations who wish to create lasting change in the world, their communities, and themselves.

Today, she noted, 1.9 million Rotarians around the world are providing service to others, promoting integrity, goodwill, and advancing the world through the fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. This service aims to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and advance goodwill and peace globally. “Today, in the remotest corner of the world, the Rotary Club of Mokokchung is doing a great job promoting humanity, and I salute each and every one of you,” she said. She emphasized that the sole meaning of one’s existence is to serve humanity, adding that love and compassion are “necessities, not luxuries,” without which humanity cannot survive. She further urged the Rotary Club of Mokokchung to continue spreading love, as without it humanity cannot survive.

In her address, incumbent president of RC Mokokchung, Tiarenla Jamir, expressed her gratitude and optimism for the future. She also highlighted key achievements of her tenure. Thanking past presidents and secretaries for their leadership and support, she noted their role in uplifting the Rotary Club. She gave special thanks to secretary Allen Mark Longkumer, praising him as her “pillar of success” for his dedication and selfless service. Longkumer later presented the club report.

Continuing her address, Tiarenla Jamir encouraged all Rotarians to join the club to bring about positive change and to increase female membership in the club. While acknowledging the club’s achievements and success over the years, she also called for the need to continue the spirit and promote the club’s work to encourage further contributions and support. She expressed confidence in the incoming president and the new team, encouraging them to seek guidance and support to ensure their success.
