Mokokchung, 5 May (MTNews): Rotary Club Mokokchung hosted District Governor Rotarian Nilesh Kumar of Rotary International District 3240 on Sunday at the Rotary House, Mokokchung. Accompanying the District Governor was Assistant Governor, Rotarian Indira Gogoi, AG Zone XVI.

In his speech, DG Rtn Nilesh Kumar reminded everyone that one should have a clear purpose when joining the Rotary platform. He urged Rotarians, Rotaracts, and Interactors to actively engage with the organization, gain knowledge, and contribute to elevating the club’s standing. He acknowledged the club’s positive recognition within the town, evident in the well-known “Rotary Junction.” He further commended the club’s numerous achievements, including the IPPI Booth, hospital projects, and teacher awards, all undertaken with a focus on service rather than self-promotion. He encouraged Rotarians to identify community needs and take a leadership role, while also suggesting the recruitment of young, energetic members to bring fresh perspectives.

Chartered President MB Longkumer delivered the welcome address, while Rotarian Maniraj Rai introduced the District Governor. Rtn Imlitemsu Jamir, SE, Rotary Club Mokokchung, presented the club’s report for 2023-2024, and Rtn I Temsu Jamir proposed the vote of thanks.

Twelve students and three teachers in-charges from the Interact Club, Jubilee Memorial College, also attended the program.
