The much-anticipated Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of September eventually took place on 19 September, 2022 in the ADC (Planning) conference hall, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman, DPDB Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh,IAS.
However, contrary to popular belief, the DPDB meeting produced no immediate solution to the hospital road repair requirement. Instead, it is learnt that the board decided it was best to write a letter to the appropriate authority to repair the Hospital Road. It was also learnt that there was no special funds to fix the hospital road.
Meanwhile, Lanulemba Longchar, president of the Majakong Youth Association, informed Mokokchung Times over the phone that they have yet to receive any formal letter or communication from the administration. He stated that they are still awaiting an official announcement, which they anticipate receiving within the next few days.
The DPDB meeting might not have delivered the best result for repairing the hospital road immediately, but it did well to encourage sportspersons by felicitating the medal winners from the district at the recently concluded Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2022.
Status report and discussion on the following agendas were taken up during the meeting: IMDH Mokokchung; constitution of Verification Committee for LADP 2022-23; Bailey bridge, Mokokchung to Tuensang NH-202; Multi Sports Complex; and Water Task Force, Mokokchung. It was also proposed that the Indian National Autocross Championship (INAC) motorsport event to be conducted in the district be considered as a ‘district event’.
The board also recommended the opening of Soulhouse Academy in Tongdentsuyong ward, as well as the registration of the following new societies: Terai Nukla Society, Artang ward, Mkg, Mangmetong Cultural Society, Mongsenbai, ward Mkg, Wasapong Society, Kumlong ward, Mkg, Lasit Society, Alempang ward, Mkg, Shalom Tribal Trust Society, Alempang ward, Mkg, Ajungmesor Society, Mangmetong, Tepenjem Society, Mangmetong, Yongpang Society, Mangmetong, Sangpong Society, Mangmetong, Loyangpokjen Society, Mangmetong, Jeningchet Society, Mangmetong, Arongtsung Society, Mangmetong, Sensen Society, Mangmetong, The Change Society, Mangmetong, Arok Reju Society, Mangmetong.
