The Royal Enfield Mokokchung (REM) motorcycle club, known for their motto “Ride to Unite,” has launched a historic tour to explore all 16 districts of Nagaland. Established in 2018, REM is set to become the first motorcycle club to undertake such an extensive journey across the state of Nagaland. It is reported that individuals may have accomplished the feat but not a motorcycle club.
The ambitious “All Nagaland District Tour” aims to cover approximately 1300 kilometers over 5-6 days. The tour kicked off with a ride from Mokokchung to Longwa, covering a distance of 188 kilometers. Eight riders from Mokokchung will be joined by an additional two riders from Kohima. The journey is designed to explore both “The Routes” and “The Roots” of Nagaland, delving into the state’s diverse culture, people, and landscapes, while also assessing road conditions and district connectivity.
REM members, who have previously ventured to Leh in Ladakh, Nepal, and Bhutan, are eager to explore their home state, which has remained relatively uncharted in their past travels. The club meticulously planned this tour over the past year, securing accommodations through local homestays and arranging food with the help of motorcycle clubs in each district.
REM’s Chief, Moa, and Deputy Chief, Temjen, expressed their gratitude to the riders for their commitment despite busy schedules, highlighting the significance of the tour. A brief prayer for safety was offered by Lanu, REM’s enforcer, seeking divine guidance for a secure journey for all participants.
The flag-off ceremony was held at BOC Sungkomen, Mokokchung on September 16, where REM’s treasurer, Tongpang Jamir, officially flagged off the riders, wishing them a safe and successful journey. This tour marks a significant milestone for REM and sets a new precedent for motorcycle tourism in Nagaland.
An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
