Mokokchung, July 12 (MTNews): Declaring that it is a known fact that all is not well with the governance system in the state, The Naga Rising (TNR) stated today that there is recognition of the need for change. “However, the sense of taking responsibility to clean up the corrupt and dysfunctional system remains a futile endeavor,” The Naga Rising observed.
“Against this backdrop, The Naga Rising (TNR) gave birth to Rising People’s Party (RPP) to be the change we want to see and to give our people an alternative platform,” TNR said in a press statement today.
TNR, the ideological parent organization of RPP, said that the new political party has been able to raise high hopes among the public, especially the younger generation, since its inception about a year ago. “This has reconfirmed our conviction and encouraged us to rededicate ourselves to the mission for which the party was created,” TNR said.
“As a new party, there is much to learn, much to do, much to cover and there will be hardships along the way,” TNR added, while also saying that there is no better way to deal with challenges than remaining strong to the cause for which the party exists and to hold on to its ideals.
TNR said that the time has come for an “alternative politics” in Nagaland and appealed to the people to reflect on the political choice they make today. “Do we want our children to inherit a system that guarantees a better future or do we want our children to leave our land because of the corrupt system?” TNR asked. “The choice is ours,” it added.
