Mokokchung, February 26 (MTNews): The Rising People’s Party (RPP) in a statement said today that it was aghast at the prevalence and practice of “proxy teaching in almost all the Government run institutions of the State,” which, it said, was one of the most important reasons for the deprivation of ‘Quality Education’ among the future generation of Nagas.

The party said that it was in “complete admiration for the Zunheboto Range Students’ Union (ZRSU), for their boldness to stand against the practice of Proxy Teachers in Nagaland Educational system.” While saying that it was high time that the students’ communities and organizations stood for what was right with regards to the Nagaland Government educational system, RPP also challenged them to “demand for urgently required changes in order to benefit the lakhs of young students and their future.”

“The RPP appeals to the DoSE and the Government for prompt action with regards to the genuine issue, raised by the ZRSU, and to do away with the malpractice of the same. The Party also appeals to the District Education Officer as well as the SDEO of Zunheboto to stop fiddling around with the future of the young students and to look into the matter at the earliest so as to avoid unnecessary furore,” RPP said in the statement.

It may be mentioned that the ZRSU has on February 22 issued a 15-day ultimatum to the Department of School Education to completely eradicate the malpractice of proxy teaching in government schools in Zunheboto district headquarters.
