The recent press releases of the student bodies, namely, SKK, CWS and Aboi Town Students’ Union is a very encouraging sign, the Rising People’s Party (RPP) said.
“In the face of wanton and blatant corruption in the state, the younger generation will not be silent spectators anymore. The Rising People’s Party is heartened and encouraged to see the student community giving leadership and not afraid to call a spade a spade,” RPP said.
Relating to the recent video circulating in the social media where the Aboi Town Students’ Union displayed the poor workmanship of the road from Zero Point to 11th IRCamp, RPP said the workmanship is a complete mockery and those people responsible for such an irresponsible and insulting act should be booked under relevant sections of the law. “As a next step the contractor should be named and shamed,” RPP said.
RPP also said that the Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS) locked the Office of the EE, PWD (H), Tuensang Division due to negligence and incomplete projects dating back to almost 16 years. “Since governance is missing in the state except Kohima and Dimapur, it’s no wonder that the Naga public has to resort to extreme measures to wake up the state government,” RPP further said.
RPP also applauded the Sümi Kiphimi Küqhakulu (SKK) for raising the issue of misappropriation of funds under the Nagaland School Education Department to the tune of Rs. 82.79 Cr as per the report of the CAG of India. “The RPP lauds the SKK for their zeal to stand for what is right,” it said.
RPP said that it not only supports the student bodies but is also ready to extend a helping hand in bringing the issues to its logical conclusion. “The RPP is of the opinion that the present system of corruption and misgovernance is eradicable but only if the Naga people elect the right leaders during elections,” RPP concluded.
