The construction of Block-A and Block-B at IMDH is being undertaken under the National Health Mission (NHM) scheme. The construction order was issued in January 2018 with a stipulated completion time of three years. However, nearly 82 months later, Block-A is only about 40% complete.

The Ao Senden, during the Minister’s visit, urged him to “speed up the construction” and expressed concerns over “poor workmanship”. The apex body appealed for completion certification to be granted only after quality assurance.

In response, the Minister assured that the matter would be reviewed with input from engineers and construction experts.

Additionally, the Minister announced Rs 2 crore for the ongoing Critical Care Unit construction at IMDH. He also assured to address the water shortages faced by the nursing girls’ hostel.
