A District Level Sensitization Program was held at Mount Tiyi College, Wokha, and Government Higher Secondary School, Bhandari, on August 29, 2024, and September 2, 2024, respectively.
The program is an initiative of the Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) in collaboration with the Skill Development Committee, Mount Tiyi College, and GHSS, Bhandari.
During the programs, Rachano Murry (AC-Skills, NSRLM RD Block Sanis) gave a PowerPoint presentation on DDUGKY. She also highlighted the aims and objectives of DDUGKY, stating that it is a placement-linked free training program under MoRD, GoI.
Emphasizing the importance and benefits of this skills training program, she noted that it primarily focuses on rural youths seeking employment between the ages of 18 and 35 years. Expressing concern over the current unemployment rate in the state, she pointed out that this program offers the opportunity to acquire skills for better employment prospects and to build a sustainable livelihood, ensuring a rewarding and stable future.
Citing examples of many successful candidates trained through this program who have been placed with reputable companies across the country and abroad, she encouraged participants to take advantage of the training program and assured them that all placed candidates are tracked for a year to ensure the benefit and safety of the beneficiaries.
At Mount Tiyi College, the program was chaired by Skills Development Committee member Assistant Professor Oliv L. Ayemi. A vote of thanks was delivered by Chumbenthung E. Yanthan, AC-Skills, NSRLM RD Block Wokha.
