Tuensang, 14 November (MTNews): SDO (Civil) Tuensang, Sentilong Ozukum, inaugurated the Social Awareness and Action Plan to Neutralize Pneumonia Successfully (SAANS) at the CMO Conference Hall in Tuensang on 13 November 2023.
In his address during the program, SDO Ozukum emphasized the severity of pneumonia, particularly among children, stating that it can be a dangerous disease if left untreated. However, he highlighted that pneumonia is preventable through medical treatment and the creation of social awareness. He expressed the importance of conducting social awareness programs on pneumonia in the district, in collaboration with the H&FW and Allied Department.
The program was chaired by Mongko Chollen, DPM NHM, and featured a presentation on SAANS by Dr Imtijungshi Aier, DPO RCH/UIP. The event saw the participation of representatives from the Medical Department, NSRLM, AWW, ASHA Workers, and NGOs from Tuensang Town.
